I have made so many scone recipes and nothing comes close to this one! In the recipe they use self raising flour, but I used what I had in my pantry that is normal flour and just added baking powder.
Hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
My one friend made them and I got to get my hands on them! They are super moist and soft and just delicious!
4 cups flour
20ml baking powder
Pinch of salt
300 ml cream
300 ml Lemonade (soda water if you’re making savoury scones).
Preheat oven to 220 degrees. Line a baking tray with baking powder.
Sift flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl, mix briefly.
Make a well in the centre, add the cream and lemonade.
Mix well, be careful not to over mix, until it forms a soft dough.
Will be pretty wet- you may want to add a little more flour to be able to handle the dough.
Turn the dough on a well floured bench, dust lightly with flour, gently roll into a rectangle.
Cut into approx. 12 pieces and lift onto a baking tray.
Bake in preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove and cool in a clean tea towel, to keep their freshness.
Serve with butter, cream, jam or your favourite topping!
Enjoy!
