Growing up, this bicuits was my go to. I have always loved eating this biscuits, to be able to make it, was a whole new adventure on it’s own. To make the carmalised oats from scratch too and then slowly adding all the other ingredients to it! I have googled to see if there was a recipe for it, but there wasn’t so I thought I will be the first to make it then.
It’s sweet, toffee like biscuit taste, yummy and full of goodness. Hope you enjoy making this recipe too as I have enjoyed making it!
125g Unsalted Butter at room temp.
1/2 Cup Soft Brown Sugar
2 Tbs Golden Syrup
2 Tbs Treacle Syrup
2 1/2 Cups Carmalised Oats
80ml Full Cream Milk
2 Cups Flour
1/2 Tsp Baking Soda
1 Tbs Baking Powder
Pinch of salt
Cream together the butter and sugar.
Add the egg, milk, soft brown sugar, the 2 syrups and the Carmalised oats. Mix well, till just mixed.
Sift the dry ingredients and add it to the wet ingredients. Mix well for a few minutes, till the dough is a cookie consistency.
Place teaspoonfuls on baking trays, don’t press it down.
Place in the oven on 180 degrees celsius. Let it bake for 15 minutes. The centre must still be gooey, and when it turns golden brown it is ready.
While still warm, place on a cooling rack.
Makes about 30 more or less medium size cookies.
