Homemade Pasta Gnocchi

First time making gnocchi and it is such a different taste that I am used to growing up. Gnocchi tastes to me alot like potato dumplings. Pasta potatoes. Make sure you season your gnocchi well,you can even add some spicy seasoning to it too.

This recipe is from our friends, they always make it and I used their recipe and it’s really simple and easy to make.

Peel and cut up 5 potatoes, place in a pot and boil for 15 to 20 minutes till soft. Drain the water and mash the potatoes. Set aside and let it cooldown.

Add 1 cup of flour and 1 egg to the mashed potatoes and mix well. Add salt and pepper to taste.

On a floured surface, roll the dough into a long roll. Cut out or roll into shapes.

Place water in a pot with some salt. Wait for the water to come to the boil, then add the gnocchi one at a time.

When the gnocchi have reached the top it is ready. Place on a paper towel and let the excess water drain off.

Serve and enjoy!

Sidenote: Make sure your dough is not too dry, otherwise just add a few drops of water and if its too wet just add some more flour.
