I know it’s been a while since I posted anything food related. It’s just been so crazy the last couple of days. I have so much more to share. I started a podcast as well it is available on all streaming platforms, still waiting for apple.
The podcast is Kristie’s Pantry. Anyway this blog post is about how my days are as a stay at home mom (currently).
At 6am in the morning my day starts, as soon as my husband is up, I get up too. I get dressed and then we go make some coffee and get something to eat. Our toddler usually is awake by then and eats breakfast with us, a few minutes later, our youngest also wake up, and also have some breakfast.
After breakfast it is then off to nappy changing and getting both kids dressed. We then begin our day.
It’s then time for brushing teeth for both kids.
It’s then playing together with my two daughters. In between playing nappy changing is taking place and constantly feeding our kids and cleaning up after them.
In between feeding and cleaning, I clean the house, do laundry and start thinking about what to make for dinner.
In between all that is sister rivalry and sisters playing together, laughing together and us all playing together. With meltdowns and screaming too we reach 12pm where both kids go for napping usually.
Depends on the day our 1 year old goes for a nap in the morning and early afternoon. When they are fed and asleep, I take a breather, have something to eat and do anything admin related for our home. Like making appointments or anything else I can find to do.
After their nap it’s playtime, learn time and talk time and more eating.
By the time my husband comes home from work, it’s dinner time, bath time and story time and then sleep time.
These days I do bath time earlier so when my husband comes home, he doesn’t have to stress too much, he can just wind down and calm down.
By 8pm it’s my blogging time usually if I aren’t too exhausted. Otherwise I bake something new and experiment with new things and read some books (I love reading).
By 10pm it’s time for bed, by then I have no energy left, and take a shower and get into bed and sleep and it’s the same the next day.
Since our toddler started school a few months ago, I get more time to do things but the time goes by even faster.
The days are a little different but still busy and packed with household chores to be done.
I am just sharing how the day in my life is. Any stay at home parent is not easy and being a working parent is just as hard.
Hats off to all parents, if you reading this, you are not alone. It’s the most busiest time and crazy time, but I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.
Some days are bad and some days are good. We are not perfect we make mistakes and that’s what parenting is all about.
Supporting one another, supporting parents, moms and dads.
