Chocolate Sauce Cake

I had so much fun making this cake. While we were in Kerikeri, my friend asked me to make this for her. It was so much fun making it, and trying it for the first time, her oldest boy also helped me, and he loves learning about baking and food.

We had so much fun. It turned out delicious!

The Recipe:

Soak Sauce:
500ml Fresh Cream
200g 70% dark chocolate blocks
50g unsalted butter

Break dark chocolate blocks into pieces and place into a bowl and set aside. Pour the cream into a bowl and heat up in the microwave for 1 to 2 minutes till warm. Pour the warm cream over the chocolate pieces and leave for 5 – 10 minutes.
After 10 minutes slowly start to mix together using a metal spoon, till well mixed.
Fold in the 50g of unsalted butter till well incorporated, and pour inside the glass serving dish.

Chocolate Cake:
540g Chocolate Fudge Cake Mix
540g Super Moist Devil’s Food Cake Mix
250g butter melted
6 eggs
360ml milk

Make the cake mixture like stated on the
Bake at 180 degrees celsius for 45-50 minutes until a skewer comes out clean.
Place onto a wired rack, and follow the steps for the pour over sauce.

Pour over sauce:
125ml Condensmilk mixed with 125ml warm water

After cake is out of the oven, poke with holes using a fork and pour sauce over.

Topping for Chocolate Cake:
500ml Chocolate Buttercream
1/2 chocolate bar grated

Cover Cake with any chocolate buttercream or any buttercream to your preferences and grate some chocolate over. Place in the fridge and serve a piece of cake with a dollop of cream or ice cream.

Sidenote: You can use normal chocolate instead of the dark chocolate if you prefer.
