I wanted to try this for a while now. It came out better than I expected. We had ripe bananas and I wasn’t in the mood to bake banana bread or muffins, so I decided to make a dump cake with the ingredients we had, throwing everything we had.
The caramel is the perfect pairing with the banana.
My own recipe. I would add another box of cake mix, instead of just 1. Just to give it more crunch
Prepare a glass dish, cut up 6 ripe bananas in slices and layer the first layer in the dish.
Mix together 2 cans of caramel (395g per can x 2 = 790g) and 1 can of evaporated milk is 340ml. Pour over the bananas.
Take one vanilla ready cake mix. I used the Betty Crocker super moist cake mix that is 540g. Sprinkle over the bananas and caramel mixture. Don’t mix.
Add blocks of butter, I used about 50g of butter. Layer the blocks on top of the vanilla cake mix layer.
Place into the oven on 180 degrees celsius and bake for 45 minutes to 1 hour, until the top is crumbly.
Serve warm with custard, cream or ice cream.
Enjoy!
