My Mental Health & Me

As we head into the silly season very soon, I would just like to remind you to take care of your mental health and yourself too. As a society we are always taught to place our own self care and mental health on the back burner. To tell you the truth, that does more harm than good.

In order to be a great parent, mom, dad, wife, women and a well balanced individual for society, self care is very important when parenting. Taking care of our health is our responsibility and if we don’t it falls on our family and that’s not fair for them.

When we face health challenges we need people in our corner, cause mentally it does get to us. This past year have taught me that if people are not in your corner, not supporting you and questioning you not believing you and thinking what you are going through is all in your head, let them go.

Nothing is more important than putting yourself first. Your mental health comes first before any job or title. To flourish in an already broken society it’s even more important than ever to take care of yourself and your mental health.

I think with Covid19 the focus have shifted so much to mental health that some jobs have started giving their employees a day off in the week for self care.

Whoever is reading this may you always know that you are enough and your mental health matters. That you are important and the world needs you. May you practise self care and have the support you need.
